Because the host of WMOT’s The Native Brew Hour, it is my ardour and mission to find these creating music right here in Nashville, Tenn. Early within the pandemic, as artists have been processing all of it, one thing exceptional began taking place. India Ramey was a prosecutor in Alabama working with home violence victims earlier than following her songwriting dream to Nashville. She simply performed SXSW and “King of the Ashes” is on her album Shallow Graves.

LadyCouch

Co-lead singers and songwriters Allen Thompson and Keshia Bailey make up LadyCouch. The mix of those two longtime Nashville inventive forces is funky, soul crammed rock and roll, finest skilled with their 11 piece band. “Free To Breathe” is from The Future Seems Nice.

Madeleine Kelson

Chloe Kimes

Chloe Kimes is a weekend DJ at WMOT and a Center Tennessee State College graduate. “Stand to Achieve” is out now and will probably be on Kimes’ self-titled debut due in July.

Impolite Music

Fashioned by brothers Kevin and Matt Nolan, Impolite Music contains childhood bandmate Tyler Bartram and Marty MacMillan, a grasp luthier from Detroit. Wealthy vocals, extremely catchy melodies and a basic ’70s sound harking back to Moby Grape. “Angeline” is a highway journey rocker from Canine Days.
